What is the biggest and most mysterious secret that you have not revealed to anyone?

When I was 17 I fell in love with a mechanic who had a shop near my house. Atleast I thought it was love. We never had any physical encounters. He always wanted to but I told him only after we get married. I used to miss college to be with him. This went on for 2 years. I was in my second year when one of my teachers found out and told this to my parents. My father became really serious and told I can’t marry him because he is poor and belongs to a lower caste and can’t take care of me. I tried arguing with him but didn’t work. I always knew that my family had caste feeling. This made me think that my father was not accepting my relationship with him only because of caste. I told what has happened to him. He told me that we love with us and we both are majors so we’ll get married. He also told me that his parents might not accept our wedding as I belonged to a different caste. So we planned to get married. With the help of my friends I came out of my house with some gold as I needed ...

Story which can make me feel like crying and smiling at the same time?

He added a message in the WhatsApp group, "Guys, I've bought the cake! Let's meet at Raj's home at 11.45." Everyone replied, "Roger that for Raj, +1, let's go, for sure, etc." They reached on time and met Raj's parents. Raj was a single child, so the cake was cut by his parents every year. They were so happy with tears in their eyes. Emotions were flowing everywhere. Somewhere in heaven, Major Raj felt, " Friend died, but friendship didn't. " ~  Dhawal Barot

What is the most soul-satisfying thing you have ever done in your life?

I was travelling in an auto in Bangalore 6 months back. The auto driver was frantically making calls constantly and talking in the local language which I don't completely understand. But 15 minutes into the call I understood that he was trying to call different people who had earlier promised to pay him small sums of money so he could get his son admitted into a college. He was turning out to be 1500 short and was constantly pleading with people on the phone to give him that money, to no avail.  I got off the rickshaw and paid the fare, and when the auto was about to leave, I stopped him and took out 1500 rupees and handed it to him. I had waited before paying because I wanted to ensure that it wasn't an act that he was carrying out.  The guy, at first didn't accept the money, but with some persuasion thanked me profusely and accepted the money. I also told him that I am only loaning it to him and want it back in 6 months, and I took his phone number and gave him mine.  ...

What is the saddest thing about you?

I wake up to a life I should not have, and a mindset far too mature for my delicate age of 8 years old. My mother shakes me awake from the top of my bunk bed where I lie. She reminds me it’s Friday, and our last day of school. I have 15 instead of 30 minutes to get ready today, because my mother forgot our alarm again. I walk in the living room and she tells me to have a good day at school, while my stepfather laughs and sarcastically says, “Yeah, right”. I get to school, our final day of third grade has begun. Mrs. Ford calls all of our names for the final time, and we get a run-down on our fun activities for the day. We have a bouncy house, music, board games, and relay races. That would have been excellent, if I had any friends. However, if you’re autistic like me, no one really wants to be your friend. You get called “____ #2” when someone else has your name, rather than your last name. People single you out. “Why isn’t she wearing shoes?” “Why is she so fat?” ...

What’s the best thing you have ever said in an interview?

I was interviewed at the end of my 7th semester by 3 officials of an air conditioning company in my college campus. It was my first interview and it was making me apprehensive and worried. After entering the interview room, my interview went on like this … Interviewer : (Glancing at my CV) So, Ashish give some brief introduction about you and your family. (As like the rattan parrot I started throwing out words out of my mouth) Me : Sir, I am Ashish Kaushik student of Mechanical Engineering final year (they already knew it as they had come for placement only of final year students from Mechanical background, but feeling easiness by starting in this way I carried on further). I have a family of five members with my mother, father and two elder siblings. My father is a serviceman in XYZ company. My mom is a housewife. My elder brother is doing a job in a private company and sister is pursuing her M. com. (the challenging line comes now) I am the resident of the highest tax paying ...

What has been the biggest plot twist in your life?

I was young, I was dumb, I was sleeping with my boss. I was 20 at the time, he was 28, we had been working together for two years before the start of our little tryst. After a month, he was actively sleeping with other people and I was entertaining the idea of starting a new relationship with a guy from my University - when I found out that I was pregnant. I shared this with my ‘boss’, who instantly said I needed to get an abortion, and I didn’t disagree. That night, we were just talking, and out of the blue I said “You know, if you wanted to have this baby, I would have it with you.” He sat in stunned silence for about thirty seconds, before  proposing  to me. Then it was MY turn to sit in stunned silence! We knew each other fairly well at this point, and figured we would make a good team. Unfortunately, we miscarried early - but we married anyway, and have been living and working happily together for over six years. (Although now I don’t call him my boss!)...

Humor: What are some of the greatest examples of presence of mind?

A person once went for an interview in a very reputed company. While entering the room, he slipped and fell on the ground. Humiliated, one might think. Documents scattered all over the place. The man picked himself up. And with a smile on his face he spoke out loud, "Finally, I have fallen into right place!". He was hired the very next moment. ~  Adi Agarwal

What is the most touching act of kindness you have ever witnessed or experienced?

It happened to me in India. I decided to take the great Indian Railways on an overnight journey to a remote small town at the invitation of a dear friend. On the return journey, from a rather dinky and humble station, the train was delayed by several hours. I figured that Indian towns were teeming with street food and I would certainly find some food at the station or somewhere en route. Despite vehement protests, I politely declined the food that my friend’s family had offered me for the train journey. Finally, after starving until almost midnight because there was no food available in this dusty railway station, and kicking myself a million times for refusing the food that my hosts had offered me, I balefully looked at the wretched train roll into the station. To my dismay and utter chagrin, there was no food available in the train either. I sighed and stretched out on my folding bed, looking and feeling very miserable. The above long prologue is necessary to explain my extraor...

I was a big fan of 3-idiots.  I especially liked the role of Sharman Joshi. So just like he goes to the interview, I went. I answered all the questions frankly, my attitude was exactly like Sharman's in 3-idiots. And the interviewer told me that I would have to control this attitude if I want to even think of joining their company. And I replied with style 'Sorry sir. I have developed this attitude after a lot of difficulties. Can't change' and I started walking away just like in the film. I decreased my speed of walking hoping they would call. I walked toward the door, walked out the door, walked out the lobby, walked out the office, walked out the building, walked out the city, f*cking hell walked out the milky way, but still didn't get a call back. ~  Akash Vadera
